Why You Feel Wired at Night (Even When You’re Tired).

You’ve been going all day.

Focused.
Driven.
Fully “on.”

But when it’s time to rest?

You’re still buzzing.

Your mind keeps moving.
Your body holds tension.
Sleep feels just out of reach—even when you’re exhausted.

This is a pattern.

The Flickering Flame Rhythm:

This is what we call The Flickering Flame.

It’s bright, focused, and powerful.

But without a transition out of that intensity, it doesn’t know how to turn off.

Why It Happens.

Flickering Flame builds when your system moves from constant output straight into trying to sleep.

There’s no descent.

No cooling.

So the body stays activated, even when it’s tired.

What It Feels Like.

You might notice:

  • Your mind races at night, even when your body feels heavy.
  • A second wind around 9–10 p.m.
  • Difficulty settling, followed by a sudden crash.
  • Waking between midnight and 2 a.m.
  • Heat in the body—tight shoulders, flushed skin, or internal tension.

This isn’t something to force, it’s something to regulate.

What Actually Helps.

You don’t need less energy.

You need a way to come down from it.

Flames don’t get shut off.

They get tended.

That means creating a transition your body can follow.

Try this:

Lower the stimulation.
Dim lights. Reduce input. Let your environment signal the shift.

Cool the system.
Chamomile, lemon balm, or rose help bring down internal heat.

Clear the mental load.
Write down thoughts, ideas, or to-dos before bed.
Not to solve—just to release.

Give your body a signal to soften.
Slow movement, gentle touch, or even holding your feet can help your system come out of “doing.”
